AAPS CDT Centre Manager (CT6607)

Are you an experienced HE manager looking for an exciting, challenging role? 

We are seeking a Centre Manager to set-up and manage the new EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (AAPS CDT). The AAPS CDT will produce graduates who have completed a focused doctoral research thesis and undergone a distinctive training programme that provides a talent pipeline for the UK automotive industry.

As Centre Manager, you will support the Director of the AAPS CDT and its Executive in delivering the strategy of the Centre, both within its long-term vision and on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the overall management of the CDT and its administrative team, having oversight of all aspects of its operations.  You will contribute to the strategic planning of the Centre and ensure its long term sustainability. A core element of the role will be engagement with a significant number of colleagues across the University and external stakeholders, including industry partners and the funding body (EPSRC), and the management and expansion of these as the CDT evolves.

As Centre Manager, you will have significant project management experience, strong reasoning and analytical skills and substantial professional and managerial experience in the Higher Education sector, along with an in-depth understanding of the research and doctoral training environments.  You will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and implement new processes. You will also possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to the University.
