The Machine Vision and Perception Group (MVP) at Technical University Munich https://www.facebook.com/tum.perception/ is offering 2 positions for 4-years to pursue a PhD in Visual Activity Recognition and Exploration of Dynamic Environments in service scenarios. You will work in a world class robotic research environment of the Munich School of Robotics and Machine Intelligence. The candidates will be involved in the development of a service robot with the focus on the visual perception and interaction part of the project. The positions are available immediately and they are open until filled. Sought profile: The candidate should hold a MSc degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and should have good knowledge in Image Processing and (conventional) Computer Vision. The following aspects will be positively assessed when selecting the candidate: strong knowledge of geometric approaches for visual navigation, strong motivation to pursue research in the mathematical and algorithmic foundations of Computer Vision, good academic record, solid background in mathematics and Computer Vision, fluency in oral/written English, ability to organize and write clear scientific reports.
