Description :

Are you an experienced assay development scientist? Do you have a wide range of technical skills and analytical experience? Can you support a variety of exciting research projects translating state of the art biosensing technologies into point of care or wearable in-vitro diagnostic medical tests?Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

As an In-Vitro Diagnostic technical specialist you will provide an ongoing, professional skills base to underpin the development of a variety of research projects, including the Medical Research Council funded RID-AMR programme (Rapid Infection diagnostics to help manage Antimicrobial Resistance) and the Leeds NIHR Medtech and In Vitro Diagnostic Cooperative (MIC).

You will contribute to projects addressing different scientific questions, identifying research areas for completion and taking forward the laboratory aspects of the work.

Your wide range of technical skills and experience, ideally gained in a commercial or medical laboratory setting, will enable you to provide specialist skills and advice to inform both the development and support of the research whilst contributing to various aspects of the research project itself. You will have significant experience in the development and analytical validation of In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices or medical laboratory developed tests.

With the ability to plan and manage your own research activity, with appropriate guidance and in collaboration with others as appropriate, you will assist in designing specific strategies towards achieving the research goals of the project and managing individual components of studies.
