The Centre for Corpus Approaches to Social Science is seeking to appoint to a 1-year research position to work on a project funded by the Aziz Foundation, entitled ‘Discourses of Islam in the Press’. 

You will have experience of corpus-based (critical) discourse analysis, preferably in an area with relevance to the study of the media and representations of minority groups. Experience of compiling (newspaper) corpora is also advantageous, as is familiarity with programming. 

You will join an interdisciplinary team of internationally renowned researchers within the Department of Linguistics and English Language. The project is supervised by Prof Tony McEnery, Dr. Gavin Brookes and the Aziz Foundation. The post is offered at 1.0 fte Grade 6 or 7, depending on experience. The post will commence 01/10/2019.
