We are looking to recruit a Chef Manager to work within the Hospitality, Catering & Conference team. You will be part of the team providing fantastic food and drink offer for the students and staff in a newly built café, for the launch of a new medical school within the Health & Medical Science department. You will be managing a team of three staff and will have 600 students & staff daily, serving breakfast, lunch and beverages.

We expect you to interact regularly with the students, staff and visitors who enjoy our food – and to work with the Executive Chef & Head Chef to develop new ideas, concepts and food innovations to maximise sales.   In addition to a competitive salary we offer a generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, discounted sports club membership and free meals when on duty.   The ideal candidate will: • Be up to date with current food trends, creative, foodie • Have proven experience of successfully managing & motivating a team • Exemplary food preparation & have experience of high volume food production • Be able to work under pressure and be able to handle a variety of styles of service • A strong team player & have the ability to train and inspire • Genuine interest in customer service excellence, engaging with students & staff • Ensure compliance with all Food Safety and Health & Safety guidelines and policies   If this sounds like you we would love to hear from you – if you would like to arrange an informal chat please email m.pell@surrey.ac.uk.
