Two Senior Research Fellows are required to work on the Centres for Excellence in Mathematics Research Programme. This is a major project being undertaken by the Centre for Research in Mathematics Education (CRME) at the University of Nottingham. The research programme is a core part of the DfE-funded Centres for Excellence in Mathematics (CfEM) Delivery Programme being undertaken by a consortium of partners, coordinated by the Education Training Foundation (ETF). CRME will be responsible for leading a series of annual rounds of trials. These will research approaches to improving outcomes in mathematics for students working towards GCSE resits. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a unique research programme that will establish a much needed research and evidence base in the post-16 Further Education (FE) sector.

Applicants should hold a first degree in mathematics or equivalent, a UK recognised teaching qualification and a PhD/EdD or equivalent in (Mathematics) Education or Social Sciences. They should also have experience of Mathematics teaching (to GCSE level) in the UK context, experience of leadership in mathematics education and experience of research in mathematics education.

Hours of work are full-time and the posts will be offered on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2021, with a possible extension until 31 July 2022. Job share arrangements may be considered.
