The School of Computing and Digital Technology (CDT) is seeking to appoint four undergraduate students to undertake a 12 month work placement to support its activities in each of the following five subject areas: cloud computing, enterprise systems, cyber security and software coordination. The successful candidate will have completed year two of a relevant BCU degree with appropriate content to one of these areas. This is a multi-faceted role where the candidate will be expected to be responsible for activities which will include developing and presenting high quality technical demonstrations of appropriate subject specific concepts, preparing resources for teaching, providing technical and classroom support as well as contributing to Open Days, Applicant Taster Days, outreach projects and other course related events. There may also be opportunities to contribute to research and / or external activities associated with the subject areas. You may also be asked to contribute to projects relevant to your course. The position will involve some flexible working during evenings and weekends. It is anticipated that the successful candidates will be a student on a programme of study that is specific to one of these four subject areas, although students from other CDT programmes who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge are welcome to apply. Strong technical, communication, problem solving and presentation skills will be advantageous for this role. A presentation will be required as part of the selection process.
