Description :

The University is set in the heart of the beautiful, safe and friendly city of Lincoln.  The University of Lincoln is a forward-thinking, ambitious and international institution with high aspirations and strong record of widening participation in Higher Education.

The creation of the new Foundation Studies Centre – Science, is a milestone in the development of the University of Lincoln and is based within the College of Science.  The Centre’s focus is to provide Foundation Year programmes, in preparation for students to transition onto the major degree programmes offered by the College, within the Schools of Chemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physics, Pharmacy and Medicine. We are therefore seeking talented scientists to contribute to the teaching of relevant elements of biology.  A strong track record in developing and delivering innovative A level (FHEQ level 3) or equivalent curricula in Biology will be an advantage.

The successful applicant will report to the Director of Foundation Year Studies, Kerry Blagden, who is herself an experienced transition support practitioner, with extensive experience in the secondary and HE sectors.   Please contact Kerry Blagden within the College of Science on +44 (01522) 835733 or email kblagden@lincoln.ac.uk for an informal conversation about this opportunity.

As an institutional Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder we are committed to advancing gender equality in STEM, therefore female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2. The post is being made available to internal candidates only in support of our commitment to developing staff by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion. Therefore we actively encourage applications from all staff across the University with the relevant skills and experience.

Please note that this post requires an Enhanced DBS check.
