You will act as the administrative assistant to the Biomedical Services Research Facility, as well as performing the role of Home Office Liaison Contact (HOLC) to support Home Office licensing within the University. You will have experience of organising and minuting meetings and committees, experience of financial and purchasing systems, use of databases, and strong IT skills. The role will require you to coordinate animal purchases both domestically and internationally, liaise with academics and suppliers, and organise deliveries. You will administer meetings and committees, including preparing documents for the Animal Welfare Ethical Review Board (AWERB), and preparing minutes from the AWERB committees. Knowledge of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 would be an advantage.

You will be working as part of a team responsible for ensuring a high standard of animal care and services are maintained to support a wide range of world class research programmes at the University of Leeds. You will be required to work effectively as part of a team with staff and others to promote good working practices ensuring service adaptability to meet the changing needs of the Facility and the customers. You will report to the University’s Named Veterinary Surgeon within the Secretariat, but be based in the Faculty of Biological Sciences.
