Human Health and Development Technical Team
Location: Based at the SGH Campus within the Institute of Developmental Sciences building
An opportunity has arisen to appoint a full time Laboratory Assistant to work as part of the technical team supporting the School of Human Development and Health research activities. The post will involve laboratory housekeeping, distribution of stocks and consumables, record keeping and assisting with deliveries.
The candidate must have a willingness to work with a variety of waste streams (chemical, biological and recycling), distribute essential supplies and materials to researchers, and be able to assist in the cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of a range of common basic laboratory equipment after sufficient training. Previous laboratory experience is an advantage but not essential, with full training in routine laboratory processes and Health and Safety provided.
The HDH technical team is an adaptable, proactive and hardworking team and the ideal candidate should have a good range of soft and practical skills that will complement the team’s work ethic, a keen eye for accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail.
