About the Role

As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Biosciences you will support the expansion and development of the Edge Hill University at an exciting time in its development with increase in numbers and as we approach the final year of the GMC approval process for MBChB and start approval processes for Physician Associates Studies.

As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in biosciences, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of bioscience teaching as related to medicine across our programmes. Expertise in one or more areas such as biochemistry, physiology, genetics, immunology or neuroscience would be particularly welcome. An understanding of the application of these sciences in medicine would be an advantage. You would also have the opportunity to contribute to other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience as well as to wider roles such as assessment, admissions and student support. 

You will be expected to contribute to scholarly activity or, if you have a significant role in research, to the research activities of one of our Research Units and meet the quantitative and qualitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence exercise.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. You will hold previous teaching expertise at undergraduate level preferably to health students in order to provide excellent pastoral support to all students. You will also hold previous experience supporting students from diverse backgrounds and supporting individuals with learning needs.
