A great opportunity new Digital Marketing Coordinator to join the University of Surrey, responsible for creating and coordinating fresh, engaging content that strategically aligns with the University’s social media strategy and is tailored for our central channels and their audiences, including Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads and YouTube.

The role

You’ll feed into the creative process by working closely with the University's Social Media Content Producer to create, publish and schedule multi-media content, including photography, film, graphics, and animations, using design software such as Canva and platforms such as Hootsuite. 

You’ll coordinate channel takeovers and Social Media Ambassador-led content, generating new ideas and approaches as well as writing punchy copy that engages key audiences, knowing when to tag others, jump on trends and utilise platform algorithms.

Other responsibilities include:

Play a key role in maintaining and growing the University's social media presence across multiple brand outposts, primarily via organic, and via paid social activity when required. Gaining a thorough understanding of the University’s thriving and extensive social media network, spotting opportunities to collaborate with other accounts and sharing content that aligns with our strategic objectives.Be flexible in your approach, with the ability to be both reactive and proactive when it comes to managing the channels and our online communities. Understand the University’s full offering and the many stakeholder groups that make us who we are, to inform, educate and excite our audiences and deliver truly impactful results.Ensure that all content embodies the University’s values of Inclusion, Innovation, Inspiration and Integrity
