The Deputy Director of Campus Experiences, Residences and Sport & Physical Activity will be responsible for the strategic and financial leadership of the extensive University student residences and sport and physical activity portfolio, working with the services’ leadership teams to design, develop and implement strategies that will ensure long term financial sustainability and the delivery of outstanding experiences for our University community.  

The role has responsibility for leading on Campus Experience programmes and initiatives that inspire and engage our University community.  As a leader, you will be required to engage and influence across the University with services, faculties and Leeds University Union (LUU) to work collectively and cohesively to create a diverse programme of activities that create a sense of belonging and place for our University community.

The role will lead transformational change initiatives across the FD and be required to support the delivery of the FD Business plan through connected and collaborative work with leaders across the FD. 

You will have significant senior level management experience in a residential, sport or customer focussed commercial environment, including leading a large residential portfolio, with a people focused approach and experience of leading and inspiring teams and individuals to deliver strategic plans and excellent services.  

A key element of this role is to be influential both internally and externally, building trust and credibility to shape and deliver a significant agenda across the Facilities Directorate and the wider University.  You will work with colleagues across the Chief Operating Officer portfolio, particularly Student Experience teams, to enable and enact campus based experience initiatives and programmes.

You will need the ability to connect and develop relationships with a range of stakeholders and multiple diverse groups and lead a diverse workforce of circa 300 people in alignment with our FD People and Culture plan.

You will report to the Director of Campus Innovation: Campus Services, Experience & Commercial, however, you will work alongside other senior leaders in the Facilities Directorate in order to collaborate and share best practice.
