Applications are invited for the Senior Research Funding Officer post, based in Research Operations within Research & Innovation, and reports directly to the Research Pre-Award Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team who play a critical role in supporting the University’s research ambitions, ensuring the effective and efficient submission of quality research applications and the set-up of new research awards. 

The purpose of this role is to provide an underpinning operational contribution to the research activities of Research & Innovation Pre-Award, specifically in a Faculty facing supervisory role. 

This is a critical role facilitating the effective administration of externally funded Research projects from research costing development of applications through to successful awards and the set-up of new research projects on behalf of UoN.

The role holder will provide expert costing and pricing advice to ensure that the University’s research operations processes are successfully delivered. This will include advising colleagues on Funder terms and conditions, the costing approach to be undertaken for various funders and ensuring the timely submission of all applications to external funders. 

The role holder will also provide expert advice to Schools and Departments on the pre-award and project set up business processes in relation to the University’s Research Information System.

The post is offered on a permanent, full time (36.25 hours per week) contract. Job share arrangements may be considered.
