BIPM Workshop on Accelerating the adoption of Quantum Technologies through Measurements and Standards

Standards play a critical role in establishing a market for emerging technologies such as quantum. The National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) and Designated Institutes (DIs) of Member States, through their expertise and historical ties to industry and standards development organizations, are well positioned to inform the standardization process through sound science, and to connect the research and commercial communities. This workshop will set the direction for a new CIPM initiative that will leverage the combined expertise of the NMIs and DIs to accelerate the development and adoption of quantum technologies through coordinated development and sharing of measurement “best practices” in support of future standardization.
