WE-Heraeus-Seminar — Gaia and the 4MOST Milky Way Disk and Bulge Low Resolution Survey (4MIDABLE‐LR).

The 4MOST Milky Way Disk and Bulge Low Resolution Survey (4MIDABLE-LR) will be the largest spectroscopic survey of the Southern Hemisphere, complementing the Gaia mission with radial velocities and chemical information. By the end of 2026, the project will be nearing its first data release, and to ensure a successful analysis and interpretation of this data, we are hosting an open community meeting. This event will bring together researchers from diverse fields to collaboratively discuss the first set of data, identify key scientific questions, and develop targeted research projects. With input from experts across disciplines, we aim to discuss initial results, prioritize scientific objectives, and establish strategies for further exploration. By coordinating these efforts early, we will maximize the potential of the data, and significantly advance our understanding of the Galaxy. Furthermore, we aim to foster new collaborations and encourage researchers to explore synergies with the project. Additionally, the meeting coincides with the PLATO launch, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone together with the community. The meeting will also honor Prof. Matthias Steinmetz the PI of the first large-scale spectroscopic survey of the Milky Way (RAVE), for his 60th birthday.
