As Impact and Knowledge Exchange Manager, you will lead and support the development of research-led knowledge exchange (KE) and impact across a portfolio of Schools in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Working as part of a small KE and impact team, the role will involve supporting academic engagement and collaboration with external partners, contributing to the development of a dynamic culture of KE, and enabling robust evidence gathering to document and demonstrate research impact. Success in the role will result in our academics being able to make a significant expansion to the impact of their research and increase grant capture to fund collaborative research and knowledge exchange.
Specifically, you will:
lead support for the delivery for specific Schools’ KE and impact activities relating to their research priorities, enabling academics to maximise the KE and impact potential of their research; identify and maximise external funding and University-wide opportunities for Social Science-led KE and impact; co-ordinate and contribute to training and skills development in KE and impact opportunities to support KE across all career stages; work to raise the profile of social sciences KE and impact activities; support tracking and reporting of KE and impact activity, particularly for REF.You will need proven interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build collaborative relationships, as well as excellent organisational skills and a high level of self-motivation.
This position is offered on a fixed-term, full-time basis until 30th November 2026. Hours of work are 36.25 per week.
