Are you passionate about delivering exceptional people-focused support? We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Senior People Administrator to join our School of Life Sciences. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide HR guidance and administrative support across all staff-related activities, from recruitment and induction to absence management and contract processes.

You’ll be the key link between the School and the University’s HR teams, ensuring compliance with policies and creating a positive experience for colleagues and candidates alike. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you’ll also help shape and improve processes that make a real difference to our people and culture.

What you’ll do

Act as the go-to advisor for managers and staff on HR policies and procedures.Oversee recruitment activity, ensuring smooth processes and excellent candidate experience.Maintain accurate records and reporting for absence, contracts, and training.Drive continuous improvement in people-related processes and practices.Support and train administrative colleagues on HR-related tasks.

To be a success in the role, you'll need to bring:

Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.Experience interpreting and applying HR policies and processes.A high level of discretion and accuracy under pressure.The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.

To ensure good team connection and service continuity, the role requires a minimum of three days per week on campus, with flexibility for remote working on the remaining days.

This is a permanent position and your working hours will be full time, 36.25 hours per week.
