The Faculty of Social Sciences seeks a Research Excellence Framework (REF) Impact and Evaluation Officer, responsible for supporting the development of REF submissions across the Faculty, and with a particular focus on the development of REF Impact Case Studies. Working in a large and complex organisation ranked 8th on research power in the UK in the last REF, you will play a key role in supporting academic colleagues’ best practice in developing, evidencing, evaluating and reporting the impact of their research.

You will work closely with Faculty and University academic and administrative REF and impact leaders, individual academics and research development staff to gather and disseminate intelligence, develop guidance on what makes a high quality impact submission, and set up evaluation frameworks to enable academics to measure and evaluate the reach and significance of their research impact and collect, preserve and curate their evidence.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, and have a thorough working knowledge of government and research funder policies, particularly relating to REF. You will have excellent communication skills, proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and the capacity to pay attention to detail in a time-pressured, busy environment.

This is a two-year fixed term post. The role holder will be based in the Centre for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Social Sciences (CAS), Highfield House, University Park.
