Category: Academic | Faculty/Division: Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences | School: School of Nursing and Midwifery | Department: Adult Nursing | Location: City South Campus | Post Type: Full Time | Closing Date: 01 Aug 2017 | An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Trauma or Orthopaedic Nursing clinician to join the School of Nursing & Midwifery at Birmingham City University.  The Department of Post-Qualifying Healthcare Practice is a thriving, innovative and dynamic environment that aims to provide high quality CPD for the West Midlands health workforce.  This commitment was recognised nationally with the University being named ‘Best Post-Qualifying Education Provider’ at the 2017 Student Nursing Times Awards. You would be expected to lead the Trauma and Orthopaedic pathway on our newly validated BSc (Hons) Professional Practice and MSc Professional Practice.  Also there is an expectation that you will contribute to our pre-registration Nursing and AHP programmes. You must be a registered Nurse, be able to demonstrate evidence of on-going professional development and also hold at least a Master’s degree in a clinically relevant subject; ideally a PhD or EdD or working towards one, and demonstrate on-going personal and professional development and appropriate study associated with Trauma and/or Orthopaedics. You will be required to demonstrate clinical currency in Trauma and/or Orthopaedic Nursing. Applicants must also hold current registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse (Part 1). Previous teaching in a Higher Education or supporting students in the clinical setting is desirable.
