We are seeking two proactive individuals to work in the busy pre-award team in the Research Office. The post holders will work as part of a specialist team who support research bid development. With responsibility for a portfolio of academic schools, the Research Development Officer will be responsible for supporting all aspects of research bid development including providing funding intelligence, drafting aspects of submissions and providing specialist advice on budgeting and content of proposals. You will support research-active staff through tailored 1-1 support and through contributing to the delivery of a comprehensive university-wide training programme.
You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and a good understanding of the research environment. Experience of academic writing, developing or working with budgets and have excellent attention to detail is also expected.
We have vacancies amounting to 1.6 FTE (full time equivalent) and will therefore consider either one full-time and one part-time (0.6FTE) or two part-time post-holders amounting to the 1.6 FTE.
