Description :

We are seeking a current postgraduate student on one of the university’s Masters courses in Marketing within the Business School with behavioural economics/consumer insight expertise to take up a temporary research assistant post within the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement team.

This post will focus on addressing the business challenge presented by the requirements of the general data protection regulations (GDPR) due to come into force in May 2018 and especially the elements concerning email communications. You will work towards the delivery of a successful consent/communication preferences campaign for the university’s 160,000 strong global community of alumni and friends. This role will draw on existing marketing and behavioural science knowledge to devise a series of communications that can be tested to help identify the composition (in terms of content, format, signatory, etc.) most likely to result in positive responses/actions.

You will possess knowledge of data protection legislation and an understanding of the impact of the forthcoming GDPR and be confident in producing presentations and conclusions of findings and communicating these clearly, concisely and persuasively to a range of audiences, including those unfamiliar with statistical data. You will have excellent time management and communications skills and be able to craft compelling messages which motivate others to act.

This is a part-time role available for 2-3 days per week over a 3 month period with hours of work determined by academic schedules. It is intended that the post-holder may use this project within their degree course and there will be collaboration with key Business School academics throughout.

Interviews will be held on 26 February 2018.
