Technician (SP5042-18-533)

You will need a minimum of ‘A’ level Biology or equivalent experience/qualification in a related discipline for this challenging post, based within a dynamic and forward-thinking team which is involved in teaching, research and consultancy.

The role is part of a team of technical staff and involves preparing materials and equipment for laboratory classes and student projects, conducting demonstration of techniques to staff/students and researchers. 

You will also assist in the day to day maintenance of the laboratories and associated equipment. This will include fault reporting, stock control, requisition of purchases and duties such as Portable Appliance Testing. Training will be provided where necessary.

A commitment to Health and Safety guidelines is essential The post is based mainly in the teaching laboratories within the Biological/Biomedical area but some chemistry knowledge would be useful.
