Applications are invited for the above post in the Careers and Employability Service. The post will work with our Faculty of Engineering (focus on the Departments of Electrical Electronic Engineering, Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Civil Engineering). 

Duties will encompass all aspects of client work including quick queries and individual guidance interviews with students and graduates of the university and developing effective programmes of career development learning within academic departments.

Candidates should be flexible and innovative, seeking to empower students and engage proactively with colleagues from academic departments and professional services across the university. They should have excellent communication skills and should be able to work independently, whilst remaining aware of the activities and needs of the wider team. 

The Faculty has strong ties to engineering employers and the candidate will be expected to take an active part in supporting these relationships and developing opportunities for the students.

Particular emphasis is placed upon professional practice and the candidate’s ability to deliver information and guidance to a wide range of home and international students and graduates.

The role will involve occasional evening and weekend work, according to the needs of the Faculty and the Service. If you feel you could be a strong candidate, then we look forward to hearing from you.
