The successful candidate will line manage a small team of academics and lead the BA Textile Design programme. They will have excellent communication skills and the capacity to teach in a multi-disciplinary environment. You will need to be equally at ease in a lecture theatre and seminar setting and able to meet the needs of a large and diverse student body.

For this role, we are seeking an established Textile Design practitioner with experience of management within Higher Education. The candidate should be able to demonstrate academic experience in both leading and enhancing this nationally recognised programme of study. Teaching and practice takes place in excellent facilities and workshops, with students having access to dedicated studio space throughout the programme. The course produces highly creative, skilled and employable students suitable for a range of positions within the creative industries. The course engages in a range of high end industry events and competitions including New Designers, Premiere Vision, Spinexpo and TexSelect.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Textile Design and detailed knowledge and an established national reputation.

Once appointed the successful applicant will have the title of Senior Teaching Fellow (Education pathway). Please see job descriptions attached for the role.
