Head of Research Contracts (FAB465219)

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and proactive Head of our Research Contracts Team. The team is within the University’s Research & Innovation department and is part of the Research Operations hub, which provides financial management, contractual, governance and application support to the University’s research. The Research Contracts team has a faculty-focused structure, and works closely with colleagues across Research & Innovation and the wider University to provide an efficient, positive service to the University’s research community.

We are looking for someone who is committed to working in and maintaining an environment of continuous improvement.  The post holder will lead, develop, motivate and focus the team to deliver outstanding performance, identifying with them objectives and progress-tracking mechanisms to support success, whilst promoting a positive and proactive approach to challenges. You will have overall managerial responsibility for the team and its considerable portfolio and will provide expert advice and guidance, leading or overseeing negotiations on particularly complex or strategically important contracts as necessary and building and maintaining strong relationships across and outside the University.  

You will work with Research Contracts team members and other members of the Research Operations management team to deliver effective procedures and systems to support research contracts and interfaces and to drive workflow.  

This is a full time, permanent position. Job share arrangements may be considered.
