Description :

Applications are invited for the above post based at the Division of MSGEM (Renal Medicine), University of Nottingham Medical School at Derby (on the site of the University Hospitals of Derby & Burton).

You will be responsible for the Intelligent Technologies for Renal Dialysis and Diagnostics (iTrend) project. This is a collaborative project with a group of academic engineers that aims to develop new methods for continuous non-invasive monitoring of haemodynamic responses during haemodialysis with the goal of improving haemodynamic stability. The research will involve intensive haemodynamic monitoring of haemodialysis patients during dialysis treatment. This may require you to start work early or work late to accommodate dialysis shift times. You will be expected to work collaboratively with all members on the iTrend team and dialysis unit staff.

You must have a PhD (or be close to completion) or equivalent in a topic relevant to renal medicine and previous experience in dialysis related research is desirable. You must also have excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to creatively apply relevant research approaches, ability to build relationships and collaborate with others, high analytical ability, ability to assess and organise resource requirements, experience in use of research methodologies and techniques and experience in research relating to end-stage kidney disease. Evidence of publications in peer reviewed Journals on topics related to end-stage kidney disease is preferable.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of six months. Job share arrangements may be considered.

The post is for 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, but you will be expected to be flexible with regard to start and finish times to accommodate the timing of dialysis shifts. This may on occasion include an early morning start (07:00) or evening working until 22:00.
