Join our highly supportive team who are passionate about delivering outstanding outcomes for students from all backgrounds as they progress from school, to University and into work. You will be analysing and reporting on data and providing best practice evaluation guidance and support to the team and colleagues across the University.

About the role:

Working closely with the Access and Participation Plan (APP) Evaluation Manager, the Head of Access and Participation, and colleagues across the University who are involved in data analysis and evaluation you will contribute to building knowledge and awareness of our outreach and admissions activity. Creating better targeting and interventions across our work, including the preparation of data sets to support outreach and admissions activity in academic and professional services departments.

You will support our Widening Access team to develop and deliver a programme of evaluation, giving advice and guidance on both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and supporting them in the analysis of data. You will consolidate and analyse any findings, working with the Head of the team to provide context and perspective and share across internal and external audiences. 

About you:

As a key member of our Widening Access Team you will be enthusiastic, flexible and hardworking with experience of both qualitive and quantitative evaluation methodologies. You will be naturally highly numerate and an expert user of packages like MS Excel, along with having:

An understanding of the current issues within higher education, especially those concerned with widening participation.Undertaking evaluations and writing up findings for technical and non-technical audiences.Used reporting tools to interrogate data sets and extract information to assist in planning and policy development. The ability to communicate with and present effectively and professionally to a wide variety of people at all levels.

About us:

The Widening Access Team is part of Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach at the University. The team engages and supports under-represented students to progress to university particularly to Bath to achieve goals set out in our Access and Participation Plan. 

The team is passionate about supporting students and are a fairly informal group. Due to the nature of the work there is flexibility with working times, much of the work is structured around the school day so many events happen in the afternoons, evenings or weekends. 

The work the team delivers is varied and ranges from in school and online activity to campus based events as well as sustained programmes for groups of students. The team work a lot with third sector organisations to be able to support as many students as possible.
