The School

The Claude Littner Business School is a leading provider of national and international business and finance education. Our graduates find employment in multiple sectors – often in senior positions. Our extensive work in reducing the ethnic minority student attainment gap and boosting our business partnerships lead to increased opportunities for both students and the community. The Role 

Deliver teaching excellence at undergraduate & postgraduate levels to students undertaking programmes of study.Undertake responsibility for academic modules and courses as required by the School.Ensure all academic quality processes are adhered to.Provide effective academic and pastoral support to students.Work with the Head of School to support the development of marketing, recruitment, admissions, retention and progression plans and processes to increase levels of achievement and student satisfaction in the areas of teaching and learning.Contribute effectively to conferences and other events on teaching and learning.Undertake research or scholarly activity in an area relevant to the Claude Littner Business School.Work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of the School team.Be an ambassador for the Claude Littner Business School and the University of West London.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Pro-active participation in teaching, assessment and curriculum development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in chosen field, including but not limited to:

Developing teaching materials (teaching texts, case studies, pod casts, and student activities) incorporating both blended learning and e-learning technologies approaches to delivery;Supervising dissertations / theses / consultancy projects;Undertaking programme and/or module leadership and assisting in programme management;Membership and contribution to assessment and examination boards including liaison with external examiners.

Lead courses to foster a good overall student experience and outcome with their courses, to ensure all quality requirements and standards are complied with, to

continuously monitor and develop the courses to ensure the courses are current, relevant, and attractive.Pro-actively participate in all activities (including travel) associated with collaborations and partnerships (UK & international) where appropriate. These may include but are not limited to:Developing and delivering teaching materials (teaching texts, case studies, pod casts, and student activities) incorporating both blended learning and e-learning technology approaches to delivery;Supervising dissertations/theses;Undertaking link programme and/or module leadership and assisting in programme management;Membership and contribution to assessment and examination boards including liaison with external examiners.Act as a Personal Tutor and provide pastoral support and guidance in accordance with the University procedures.Work effectively as part of module / course / project team. In addition to course or module delivery, this includes pro-actively contributing to development and validation of new courses / modules; to the formal review of existing courses / modules; and, to all other academic quality process that the School is required to undertake. Where relevant provide effective leadership to other members of the course/module team.Work with the Head of School to support the development of marketing, recruitment, admissions, retention and progression plans and processes to increase levels of achievement and student satisfaction in the areas of teaching and learning.Lead initiatives to innovate learning and teaching within sphere of practice with the aim to improving the learning experience of students; and disseminate best practice or findings through conferences, journals and other appropriate means.Contribute to the scholarship, specialist expertise and knowledge of the Claude Littner Business School in a relevant area of research as agreed with the Head of School.Support the teaching and assessment of interdisciplinary and/or specialist modules, including assessment and examination boards for cross-institutional programmes, and liaising with external examiners (where appropriate).Pro-actively engage with the wider external academic, practitioner and business communities through involvement with professional bodies and business organisations and the development of a personal network of contacts.

The Person

Qualified/certified at postgraduate level.Professional experience in multi-brand, multi-channel, omnichannel, multilingual environments and developing CX-focussed products.(For Senior Lecturer: minimum of 5 years management experience in Digital Customer Experience environment)HEA Fellowship (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of appointment).Advanced knowledge of improving customer experience processes including analysing data; UX research methodologies.Professional-level experience in app design for digital first branded environments, design of strategic artefacts.Ability to deliver a high-quality learning experience to students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.High level of skill in using e-learning systems and ability to deliver lessons online or with use of educational technology.

We welcome applications from individuals who do not have a fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Should you be successful and do not hold an HEA fellowship you will be asked to complete one within 2 years of appointment as a condition of your continued employment. Depending on eligibility this may take the form of an advanced Level 7 apprenticeship in teaching which means that you will spend 20% of your work in off-the-job study.
