Department

The Hull York Medical School is a different kind of Medical School. Our innovative curriculum and focus on problem based learning and early and sustained clinical exposure ensures that students on our MB BS programme develop the problem solving, analytical and communication skills and resilience needed to deliver a high standard of care to people with complex needs and from a variety of backgrounds. The School is currently undergoing expansion following a successful bid to increase the number of undergraduate medical student places. We therefore have an ambitious strategy for growth and diversification of its research and educational programmes. A key component of this future strategy is the development of its Health Professions Education Unit and the Postgraduate programmes delivered by the unit, including tutor training at partner sites.

The Hull York Medical School has a growing international reputation for high quality research and combined with our commitment to education and an overall outstanding student experience makes this a great place to work. The School has held an Athena SWAN Silver Award since 2016. Further information about the School can be found on our website. www.hyms.ac.uk
