The role 

Reporting to our Student Events and Communities Lead, the successful postholder will be responsible for the growth and development of our free ‘Be Active’ programme. Working in collaboration with key stakeholders across the University and Students’ Union, the postholder will promote the positive impact of an active lifestyle and ensure the programme caters for a diverse range of student communities in support of the University’s Sports Strategy. Example areas of responsibility will include planning and delivering recurring and one-off active events and campaigns, both virtually and in person. 


What we are looking for 

Our ideal candidate will have: 

Significant passion for working collaboratively with students. 

Experience of planning and organising events and campaigns, ideally with a focus on sport/active lifestyle. 

The ability to quickly develop relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues from across the University and the Students’ Union. 

Proven experience of supervising casual staff and volunteers would be an advantage. 

 

Skill level equivalent to the achievement of HNC, A-Level or NVQ3 is also an essential requirement for the role. A Degree and experience of university would be desirable. 

Some of our student activities will be delivered outside of core working hours, therefore you will need to be willing to demonstrate some flexibility in your working hours. If you thrive on variety and are comfortable juggling a broad range of responsibilities, then we would very much like to hear from you! 


What we can offer you 

The salary range for the role starts at £25,217 per annum. Further benefits include the opportunity to join the University’s pension scheme, 20 days annual leave (in addition to 8 bank holidays and 6 closure days) and access to a number of University employer discount schemes.
