Description :

Your discipline. Your passion. Our success, together.

About You

You will be a motivated individual with strong record of, and enduring interest in, supporting and engaging with students. You will demonstrate a team focus, a flexible approach and a strong flair for excellent communication.

The post will appeal to those with experience of working in the health/social care environment, who have teaching experience at HE level and been active in support of students in a practice environment. Due to the large number of students on programmes with a Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) focus, a background in CAMHS, although not essential, would be an advantage in the role.

About the Role

The Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine is one of the leading providers of education to the health and social care workforce in the region, with a growing national and international research profile. It has excellent relationships with external health and social care providers that ensures that its work is of direct relevance to, and impacts positively on, the rapidly changing health and social care environment. This role sits within the Department of Applied Health and Social Care, which offers a range of exciting and highly successful programmes within its portfolio. They aim to prepare students for working in diverse services across the health and social care sectors. This is a rich vibrant student community with student support key to our success.

The role involves supporting students in a range of practice learning contexts across a defined geographical placement circuit, namely Applied Health and Social Care students working in a range of environments. Applied Health and Social Care provide a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes whose focus is on enhancing student theoretical knowledge and providing them with scenario-based, practice and simulation experiences to enable them to make theory/practice links. In addition to providing an academic structure to programmes, we aim to enhance the employability skills of all students to enable them to be valuable and independent practitioners in their future roles. Therefore, a recognition and articulation of factors and strategies that support the enhancement of student employability is essential.
