Description :

Make a difference, every day, to the lives of our students.

About You

You are a highly organised administrator with excellent IT skills and experience of working with financial data, ideally in a credit control or debt management environment.  You have an ability to deliver accurate reports of a high standard, whilst working under pressure. You will have experience of interpreting complex regulations and providing advice.

Your first-class interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, negotiate payment arrangements with debtors and represent the University over debt disputes. To be successful you will be committed to enhancing the student experience by ensuring the most efficient and effective business operations.

About the Role

Academic Registry is a central support service that serves to provide high quality administrative systems to facilitate the student journey from enrolment through to award conferral.  This post is based in the Fees, Scholarships and Bursaries Team.

Working flexibly within a busy team you will have lead responsibility for accurate and timely invoicing, payment collection and credit control for your own student cohort and the wider Team.  You will oversee payment plans and debt referrals, ensuring activity is compliant with University’s processes and procedures and meets the changing requirements of the service.  You will report regularly on tuition fee income and student debt to the University’s Directorate Team and play a significant role in financial year end.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, professional and highly numerate administrator to make a significant contribution to an important area of the University.

Rewards/Benefits

You will benefit from 23 days annual leave plus 13 bank holiday and University closure days per annum, pro rata. We aim to provide our staff with a positive work life balance and have a range of schemes in place to support this. Your continued professional development is as important to us as it is to you and we demonstrate this through our investment in your CPD activity.

You will be automatically enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme and have access to our staff benefits platform, which provides you with discounts across the high street to help you save money on your everyday spending such as supermarket shopping, cinema tickets, dining out and more. We also offer discounted membership to our state-of-the-art sport and leisure facilities.
