SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY

Your discipline. Your passion. Our success, together.

About You

With experience of research degree supervision, you will be experienced in designing and delivering workshops and sessions to large groups, creating interactive digital learning opportunities for postgraduate researcher development. You will be able to work collaboratively with academic colleagues and other staff members across the University on developing learning support interventions, and will have a knowledge and understanding of the support needs amongst postgraduate researchers and the challenges they face.

About the Role

The Graduate School is seeking to second an academic member of staff on a 0.3 FTE fixed-term basis to contribute to postgraduate researcher development and the coordination of the work of the Graduate School Research Degree Contacts in arts & humanities disciplines. This opportunity will provide you with evidence of research leadership, normally something that is required for Reader/Professor applications.

Working as part of the Graduate School team, you will take a lead role in designing, implementing, managing and reviewing postgraduate researcher development provision in the arts & humanities across the University. You will also contribute, as a member of a team led by the Associate Dean of the Graduate School, to the design, delivery, management and implementation of the core postgraduate researcher development programme.

You will be expected to produce print and digital resources and contribute to projects, working groups, committees and initiatives relevant to the role. That will involve developing good working relationships and networks across the University and outside the University in order to develop and maintain a high level of understanding of the researcher development agenda, including doctoral education, and initiatives across the sector.

For informal enquiries about this vacancy you may wish to contact the Graduate School (graduateschool@edgehill.ac.uk), which will arrange a conversation with Dr Leon Culbertson, Dean of the Graduate School.

At Edge Hill University we value the benefits a rich and diverse workforce brings to our community and therefore welcome applications from all sections of society
