About the Role

As Head of Social Work and Wellbeing, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and leadership of the Faculty. You will ensure that the department maintains and continues to enhance the excellent reputation and position as a leading provider of high-quality health and social care education. You will provide the leadership direction with a strong focus on enhancing the student experience for all programmes with a focus on high quality and innovative learning and teaching and graduate employability. As Head of Department, you will push forward priorities for research and teaching excellence. You will also have strategic oversight of all aspects of practice learning, evidencing excellent networking skills in engaging with external stakeholders.

About You

As Head of the Department of Social Work & Wellbeing, you will be a strategic and inspirational leader with extensive experience of operational, strategic, and professional management and leadership in the development and delivery of a range of innovative health and social care programmes. You will have a successful track record of developing and sustaining strong partnerships and collaborations including those with local health and social care providers as well as able to understand the key drivers and considerations for developing and delivering programmes in areas relating to health and social care, including inter-professional learning. You will also have highly effective communication and people skills with excellent emotional intelligence and a demonstrated ability to successfully lead change in a complex environment.
