Applications are invited for the above post to work as part of the team in the Power Electronic, Machines and Control Research Group in the Faculty of Engineering on the University’s Jubilee Campus. The Faculty of Engineering offers development opportunities to all staff and encourages staff to develop within their roles.

The Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Research Group is internationally renowned and one of the largest on its field. Comprising 19 academic staff, around 60 Research Fellows, around 70 PhD Students, and 3 Project Management and Administrative Staff, PEMC delivers high-impact teaching, research, and industrial collaborations. 

The PEMC is known for facilitating an exciting range of projects funded by the UK Aerospace Technology Institute Programme and the European Union through the Clean Sky 2 programme and the Clean Aviation programme translating interesting research results into industry through collaborative projects with key partners such as Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Safran, Leonardo and others. The post holder will join a highly skilled team of professionals that execute these projects and interact on a daily basis at the interface between internal and external stakeholders. 

The successful candidate will provide project management support to academic and research staff within the Group. The Power Electronic, Machines and Control Research Group is a large and dynamic team with an internationally leading position in their research area. 

Duties will involve carrying out a range of administration activities such as organisation, planning, communication, and delivery of project goals. The role holder will co-ordinate and support areas of research activity ensuring appropriate project management support is given to academic colleagues in the Group.

The role requires attention to detail and the ability to identify potential opportunities to support research activity/administration. 

This is a 2 year fixed-term post with an immediate start. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
