Introduction

The University of Southampton’s Advanced Project Management Research Centre (APROM) in collaboration with Greyfly.ai is seeking a Generative AI Research Associate for a 4-month Accelerated Knowledge Transfer project, administered and part funded by Innovate UK KTN. The role is focused on the development and enhancement of an innovative Generative AI (GenAI) chatbot to advance the capabilities of the Greyfly Intelligent Project Prediction (Greyfly-IPP) platform, with an emphasis on improving functionality, trust, and user adoption.

About the Role

As the ideal candidate for this position, you are forward-thinking with a deep passion for understanding the nuances of AI, especially within the evolving landscape of project management. You will play a crucial role in contributing directly to the development of AI-driven project management solutions and fostering the integration of academic research.

The position encompasses a range of responsibilities including comprehensive research into generative AI models, natural language processing techniques, and conversational AI technologies to identify and implement methods that improve the chatbot's functionality. The role also involves the creation of a high-quality training dataset for the chatbot, ensuring data quality, uniformity, and adherence to privacy standards. Further responsibilities include the design and implementation of advanced machine learning algorithms and neural network architectures, optimising the chatbot for fluency, coherence, and engagement, and conducting thorough testing and validation to evaluate the chatbot's performance, employing feedback to optimise the model across various scenarios.

Collaboration with the Data Science team at Greyfly.ai and business stakeholders is essential, requiring effective communication of technical findings to non-technical audiences. The role demands leadership in project management from inception to completion, ensuring effective management of timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations, along with maintaining clear and concise documentation of the design, implementation, and evaluation processes, and preparing progress reports and presentations for stakeholders.

At APROM, we value diversity, innovation, and the pursuit of excellence. If you resonate with these values and are eager to contribute to a ground-breaking study that bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world application, we look forward to welcoming you to our community.
